THE RATMOBILE

With elegant styling by Pinifarina and 50% tougher than its little 1600 sister, this is a car to be contended with. It screams 70's testosterone with flared pants and boofed up mullets. Coming soon to a street near you ......  the Datsun 2400  - Super Six!

This car was owned from new till Dec 2008 by the original owner and was driven regularly. The car is L24 Powered on its original engine and has column shift auto!

To make it more reliable it has had an electronic distributor fitted which also helps starting.

I have fitted some Dunlop Cosmic  7" x 14" mags from the 70's also, as set of correct period performance wheels. Bilstein shocks are looking after the rear axle and will also be fitted at the front.

Future plans are to possibly fit an  R30 5 speed with Z gears. The sound system is shown below........triple 42DCOE-2 Webers naturally. These will be acccompanied by an exhaust note provided by some custom headers.

Who needs a cd player with sound like that!

The old girl came 13th of 21 finishers from 41 starters. This rally contained one stage (SS13) that was just over 100km in length. Longer than the total competitive distance in some of today's sprint events. http://www.bmsc.com.au/files/event_docs/1976/polymediacarstereorally1976results.pdf Have a look at the BMSC site for some more interesting historic rally material.
